Wine sales at supermarkets: Anna Hazare saddled with Maharashtra govt decision
"The Maharashtra government's decision to allow the sale of wine in supermarkets is unfortunate," said social activist Anna Hazare. Anna Hazare, a Gandhian who has shook the government against the increasing corruption during the previous UPA government, has expressed concern about the Maha Government's wine policy.
The Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena alliance Mahagadhi government has decided to allow the sale of wine at supermarkets and walk-in stores in Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Govt's decision to allow sale of wine in supermarkets is unfortunate. It's the duty of Govt to work towards de-addiction, but I'm saddened to see that it is taking decisions, for financial benefits, that would result in liquor addiction, says Social activist Anna Hazare.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who spoke to the ANI on the government's decision to allow the sale of wine at supermarkets and walk-in stores in Maharashtra, said that, "Wine is not a liquor. Increase in sales of wine will benefit the farmers. We have done this to double the income of the farmers. The BJP not only opposes but does nothing for the farmers, ”he asserted.
